Major League Baseball's Cincinnati Reds, in a partnership with Procter & Gamble, picked Brookings, South Dakota-based LED sign manufacturer Daktronics to manufacture a new LED video display that will be installed at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati in time for the Reds to host the all-star events next week.

"Daktronics continues to exceed our expectations in delivering the products and programming that make our in-park experience unbeatable," said Phil Castellini, COO of the Cincinnati Reds. "We rely on their innovation and insights, and once again are very pleased with the results."

The quick-turn project features a 13HD pixel layout for the 31-foot-high by 90-foot-wide LED video display. The display is designed to provide image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility to reach to every seat in the stadium. It features variable content zoning to allow for one large image across the entire display or multiple smaller zones to show a variety of live video, instant replays, scoring information, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, sponsor messages and other venue announcements.

Daktronics will have three experienced technicians on hand during the game for event service and support.

Prior to the season, Daktronics installed a "Batters Eye" ribbon display along the fascia of the seating area. It measures approximately 3.5-feet high by 109-feet wide to provide additional statistics and game information, but can also be used to highlight sponsors throughout the game. In the past, Daktronics had installed eight different LED video displays at Great American Ball Park including fascia displays, auxiliary displays and the main outfield display featuring more than 5,300 square feet of display space.

"It is great to be selected by the Cincinnati Reds to install another video display at Great American Ball Park, a venue that already has an outstanding atmosphere," Daktronics Regional Manager Daryl Mihal said. "Being able to complete such an installation on this quick-turn timeline is a testament to Daktronics' manufacturing and project management capabilities. We know this project will help provide a great experience for fans at this year's all-star events."
