Colorado-based Breckenridge Brewery has introduced a new nitrogenated beer called Nitro Vanilla Porter (NVP).

Infused with a combination of nitrogen and CO2 gases, the beer delivers a mellow, velvety version of the company's classic Vanilla Porter version, while not replacing the classic CO2 version.

Breckenridge Brewery brewmaster and general manager Todd Usry said this beer will broaden the reach of Vanilla Porter.

"Nitro beers offer a different palate experience that we think will intrigue current Vanilla Porter enthusiasts while bringing others to enjoy our recipe," Usry added.

The brewery, which is currently conducting a phased release, initial plans to distribute the product in Colorado, California, Illinois, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and Texas.

However, additional states will be included in distribution in next quarter.

Breckenridge Brewery sales director George O'Neill said that Vanilla Porter has had a cultish following since it first started pouring at mountain brewery in Breckenridge, Colorado.

"NVP presents a distinctly soft, smooth mouthfeel; it's a highly drinkable dark beer," O'Neill added.
